About Staff Selection Commission - Combined Graduate Level Exam (SSC CGLE) : 

Staff Selection Commission conducts Combined Graduate Level Examination (SSC – CGL) for recruitment to different Central Civil posts - Assistant / Inspector /SI / Divisional Accountant /Statistical Officer/ Auditor/Accountant/Junior Accountant /UDC / Tax Assistant / Compiler, for which Graduation from a recognized University is the minimum Educational Qualification required. The recruitment for these posts is done in departments of Central Secretariat Service / Central Vigilance Commission / Intelligence Bureau / Ministry of Railways / Ministry of External Affairs / Ministry of Defence / CBI and a few other Ministries / Departments / Organisations of the Central Govt. 

Test Takers and vacancies : 

The number of test takers is increasing every year. In 2011 about 6 lakh candidates took the CGLE. This number rose to 9 lakh in 2012 and to a whopping 12 lakh in 2013. About 13000 vacancise were announced under CGLE 2011 and 19000 under CGLE 2012. It is expected that about 23000 vacancies will be announced under CGLE 2013.

The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd has already issued the notification for the recruitment of Administrative officer Scale - I. There are total 246 vacancies under various departments. Online examination will be held on May 15, 2015. A candidate should know the exam pattern, to qualify and score well in the exam. So to help in your preparation, we are providing you the pattern of the A.O. officer Scale - I exam.

Oriental Insurance, Administrative officer Scale - I Exam selection process based on two phases:

1. Online Exam: Candidates who qualify the online Examination will be shortlisted for Interview on the basis of overall marks scored in objective and descriptive section taken together against full marks of 200.

2. Interview

Online Exam Pattern:

Important note:

1. The total marks of the examination will be 200.

2. Total Duration of the exam - 120 minutes for objective test and 45 minutes for descriptive test.

3. The descriptive English Test will be conducted only through online mode. Questions will be displayed on the screen of your computer. Answers are to be typed using the keyboard. Before start of typing answers to questions in Descriptive Paper please check all key functions of the keyboard. You will get 45 minutes to answer the questions.

3. There will be negative marks for wrong answer, 1/4th of the allotted marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

4. Candidates have to qualify each section of the objective paper.

5. Descriptive paper will be checked only of those candidates, who will qualify the objective test.

6. Candidates who have been shortlisted in the online examination will subsequently be called for an Interview by the company, up to three times the vacancies of respective discipline/category.

Educational qualification: Candidate should possess certificate in proof of passing the qualifying examination as on 28.02.2015.

For Generalist Stream, a candidate must possess the minimum qualification of a Degree in any discipline from a recognized University OR any equivalent qualification recognized as such by Central Government.

For Specialist Stream a candidate must possess the minimum qualification of Degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized University OR any equivalent qualification recognized as such by Central Government:

 The minimum Educational Qualifications required for various disciplines are:

1. Accounts  - Chartered Accountant (ICAI) / B. Com / M. Com

2. Legal - Graduate in Law

3. Generalist - Graduate in any stream

4. Actuaries - Post Graduate Degree in Mathematics / Statistics / Actuarial Science Or Graduation and pass in at least 04 papers of the examination conducted by Actuarial Society of India.

5. Marketing - MBA (Marketing / Sales)

Note: The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate of the necessary qualification as on 28.02.2015.

Age Limit: Minimum Age: 21 years Maximum Age: 30 years, as on 28.02.2015 i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 1st March 1985 and not later than 28th February 1994 (both dates inclusive)
